Description
  • Advising on general legal affairs of the Company’s operations, including vendor contracts (supply, lease, services contracts etc.), employment, litigation, and other corporate agreements.
  • Provision of legal support to the internal business units, which will include advising on all pre-contract and post-contract issues and the provision of commercial solutions.
  •  Attend and conduct meetings or discussion with external parties (i.e. vendors/providers, dealers, distributors, customers, etc.)
  • Management and administration of the Company’s contracts’ and agreements’ database
  • Liaise with external secretarial agents and follow up on corporate secretarial matters as required from time to time. This includes the following:
  • Coordination for printing, signing, sending and returning the corporate secretarial matters to the appropriate person(s).
  • Verify, request approval and follow up for all invoices received for legal or corporate secretarial matters and maintain up to date records for all invoices.
  • Provide relevant documents or information for secretarial matters either certified by director or company secretary when requested
  • Liaise with government bodies on regulatory, licensing, compliance and policy matters whenever required.
  • Management of board of directors’ meeting, which includes (but not limited to) preparing the agenda, coordination prior to meetings, preparation of board papers, etc.
  • Maintain proper and accurate records of the secretarial matters.
  • To assist in company secretarial practices and other legal matters in a proactive manner.
Requirements
  • Degree in law LL.B (Hons), CLP or English bar, called to the Malaysian Bar.
  • Knowledge and experience in litigation, corporate and industrial relations matters.
  • Knowledge in the United States of America’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) 1977 and/or other applicable anti-corruption laws, regulations and standards; including but not limited to the Financial Sentencing Guidelines and expectations as outlined in the relevant policies and codes within Daimler Group of companies.
  • Minimum 4-7 years’ experience in legal work (including chambering if relevant).
  • Experience in, risk management and/or compliance related work relevant.
  • Demonstrated integrity within entity/business unit and detailed knowledge of Daimler Integrity Code, Code of Ethics and other relevant internal policies, guidelines and codes.
  • Familiar with Daimler’s business practices and processes
  • Analytical thinking, good in planning (for project and ad-hoc assignments and result oriented. Meticulous and detailed person.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to articulate Daimler’s standards and expectations as outlined in the relevant policies and codes and ensure that these applied consistently with the local situation.
  • Strong communications and facilitations skills.
